The mission of the Volunteer Services Department is to maintain a liaison between the Institute and communities which provides for the well-being of customers by supplying items and services not furnished by the facility, also to enhance treatment by augmenting the endeavors of the facility staff. Volunteers must submit an application and be interviewed to determine interests and placement. Volunteers currently serve as chaplains, Sunday school teacher and shoppers, as well as support animal assisted therapy.
