Registered Nurse Clinician

Exciting opportunity exists for a RNCA to work 3rd shift (10:30 p.m. - 7:00 a.m.) on our Adult Acute Admissions Unit working with patients who suffer from serious mental illness and/or substance abuse. Prefer experience in supervising and leading others. Six-weeks of psychiatric nursing orientation and preceptorship are provided.

PSYCHOLOGIST SENIOR

Position No. 00931

Job Duties/Qualifications:   SWVMHI, a Commonwealth of Virginia employer is seeking a Psychologist for our 16-bed Adolescent Unit. Candidate should have experience providing psychological services to youth ages 13-17. We strongly prefer considerable knowledge of the principles and methods of psychological services delivery including psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, relevant psychometric instruments, and individual and group psychotherapy in an acute adolescent treatment setting. Knowledge of the principles of psychiatric rehabilitation is strongly preferred, as is knowledge of applied behavioral analysis theory and technique in an adolescent treatment environment. Expertise in evidence-based adolescent treatment program design and evaluation is also preferred. The successful candidate will function as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team. The ability to interact effectively with a variety of other disciplines in a fast-paced treatment environment is an integral requirement for this position. Opportunities for continuous professional development include post-doctoral supervision towards licensure as a Clinical Psychologist, forensic evaluation training, sexual offender training and ongoing in-service training. 

Education:  Virginia Clinical Psychology License preferred and strongly prefer doctorate in Clinical Psychology or documented equivalent.

Psychology Supervisor

Position No. 00124

Job Duties/Qualifications:   Candidates should have excellent skills as a psychologist using evidenced-based practices to provide psychological services to adult patients between the ages of 18 and 65, as well as serve as backup for evaluations with adolescent and geriatric aged individuals with mental disorders. Strongly prefer applicants with supervisory experience; considerable knowledge of the principles and methods of psychological services delivery, including psychological assessments, diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy, and behavioral/cognitive-behavioral treatment modalities. Prefer demonstrated ability to develop and administer psychological programs/treatment for young and mature adults; conduct psychotherapy in treatment; and supervise psychology practicum and intern students. Knowledge of mental health recovery principles is preferred, as is background and training in forensics, sexual offender evaluations and treatment. The successful candidate will function as a member of an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team and provide consultations to other facility staff, courts and students as necessary. The ability to interact effectively with a variety of other disciplines in a fast-paced treatment environment is an integral requirement for this position. 

Education:   Virginia Clinical Psychology License or license-eligible. Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or documented equivalent.

Recreation Therapist

Job Duties/Qualifications:  Graduation from a college or university with major studies in therapeutic recreation or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Prefer certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation or as an Activity Professional, but not required. Prefer experience working with psychiatric patients. Provides comprehensive recreation therapy services for adult psychiatric patients ages 18 to 64 in the Acute Admissions Unit. This includes assessment, treatment planning, program development and implementation, and serving as the team liaison for psychiatric rehabilitation services.

REHABILITATION SPECIALIST

Job Duties/Qualifications:  Provides Psychiatric Rehabilitation/Role Recovery groups and activities for patients from young to geriatric age groups with a wide variety of mental disabilities. Previous experience providing therapeutic activities and social or leisure services to a special population (adults or adolescents diagnosed with sever or persistent mental illness, developmental delay, substance abuse).

Cost Accountant- Admin & Office Specialist III

Job Duties/Qualifications:  Extensive knowledge of cost accounting procedures, working knowledge of general accounting and reconciliation processes, and the ability to analyze the cost ramifications of agency decision-making. Familiarity with Medicare/Medicaid regulations and cost reports preferred, with anyone not possessing such knowledge required to learn immediately upon appointment. Knowledge of integrated financial systems, coding tables, and data entry into multiple modules of those systems are central to this position. The ability to design and maintain statistics spreadsheets is essential. Experience in cost accounting of healthcare reimbursement preferred with emphasis on automated, integrated systems. Assistant Director, Administration

Job Duties/Qualifications:   Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute in Marion, Virginia is seeking an Assistant Director of Administration to direct the administrative activities of a 172-bed Joint Commission accredited mental health facility. We offer a competitive salary and an excellent benefits package, along with moving and relocation expenses. A successful candidate for this position will provide leadership for administrative departments including Food, Environmental and Physical Plant Services. Serves as a principal assistant to the hospital director in the effective financial management of all aspects of the facility, and be responsible for purchasing and contract management and development. This position is a member of the Executive Management Committee reporting directly to the Facility Director, as well as ensuring coordination of emergency management. The successful candidate will have experience in health care administration, budget formulation, and fiscal management as well as values-based leadership skills. In addition, the ability to work collaboratively with nursing, clinical and medical divisions to support patient care activities is also key.  

Education:  Master's Degree in Healthcare Administration preferred, or at a minimum, a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Hospital, or Public Administration..
